Historical Traveler Reviews of Huttons London
Served it's purpose

Our room was quite small, but slept the 4 of us comfortably. The bathroom is incredibly tiny but clean. You can see they are trying to refurbish, but not nearly there yet. There is not a clock in the room, and my best advice is DO NOT rely on a wakeup call! Nearly missed my flight because they never gave my room the ordered wakeup! I would have loved to see the rooms with hardwood floors..ours was kinda tacky in the decorating deparment. Breakfast was nice. You get what you pay for, folks!
Staff and rooms

Really very nice, trustful and friendly staff. The boss is ready for help. The rooms are tidy and calm. There was also a guide for tourists in London in each room. It was a great pleasure!
Great Budget Hotel

We just spent nine nights at Huttons Hotel in London. It is a budget hotel--small, clean rooms, small shower/bath facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast each morning was good, but not varied.
The location was perfect: near Victoria Station and many small, ethnic restaurants. I recommend Huttons for students and others who want a non-fancy hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and found clean and confortable. Its had a reburb this year and they are nuts about keeping things clean.
They had a wood floor in my room. The breakfast is enormous!!

Excellent value for money

I stayed at the Huttons in mid Feb, and having read the reviews on here expected the worst. Being a regular visitor to London I am aware that you dont get much for the ?55.00 a night room. huttons pleasantly surprised me. The rooms are small, and the toilets tiny, but they were very clean and neat. Staff were extremely helpful and the morning buffet breakfast superb. Its simply a decent hotel for the budget traveller so dont expect the luxuries you get back home. The hotel does have a luggage room facility which I used as my flight was late evening. In short 'you get what you pay for'

This is a good hotel for those on a budget or for students. This is not a luxury hotel. The rooms were nice enough(big beds and clean)...but the in-room bathrooms were gross. They smelled of mildew, are very small and were dirty. Another problem, if you arrived before check in, they had no place to store your luggage. So I had to pay to get it stored in Victoria Station. Same with check-out. But, the breakfast was good (buffet style) and the location was good. For the price it's ok. I would just take some shower shoes with you and don't expect too much.

This hotel on Belgrave Road has a similar outside appearance to the many hotels/B&B establishments on the same street. It's a less than 10 minute walk from Victoria Station. It is about midway between the Victoria & Pimlico tube stations. The hotel has an elevator. My single room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a TV receiving local channels (4 or 5) as well as a telephone. The central heating system was adequate & there was plenty of hot water. A fresh towel & bar of soap were provided each day. The buffet english style hot breakfast was fresh & abundant, all you wanted to eat. As many have reported, room sizes as well as the in-room bathrooms tend to be quite small in inexpensive hotels & B&B's. Also furnishings & decorations are simple. But as a tourist, I spent most of my time sightseeing & did not linger much in my room. The room price was right : 30GBP a night all inclusive. The only negative experience I had was upon check-out on Sunday morning I was told by the desk clerk that I owed an addition 15GBP because a Saturday night stay costs more! This was despite the fact that when I checked in I paid in full what was requested for my three night stay. I have sent a letter to the hotel manager as well as to my credit card company protesting the additional charge. My suggestion to all is that if they ask you to pay in full at check in ask for a copy of the bill at that time.
Terrible

I visited the Hutton because the advertisment read it was a bed and breakfast. The room I had was terrible. Bathroom was a 2/2 room with no room for a shower. There was this horrible smell near the stairs as we made our way to the basement for breakfast. I do not recommend this dump
Hated the Hutton

DO NOT STAY HERE - this place is horrible. The rooms are tiny, dingy and dirty. It is like something in Eastern Europe - seriously. Only stay here if you are desperate ... it bills itself as a three star but I wouldn't even give it one.
