... streets and some clear and sane mind, we found a camping site to park our RV in spend a night....

I found Zaragoza very quiet town. It's got a big cathedral and a square in front of it, statue of Goya and few other nice things.

But at night it's completely different. Lots of people on the streets, bars start filling at 7 p.m. and are full until 3 a.m. So, for us it was - Party time!!!
Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain moki_travels... over to the end of the bed, where the ladder was. But climbing down a ladder is for sissies, so I still hopped off - unfortunately, the two ladder posts stuck out slightly, and as I hopped off the bed, my butt landed directly on top of one of the posts. This hurt. A little. Actually, it hurt A LOT.

Not only did this cause me great pain, but it imparted a forward rotation on me, causing me to land much farther forward than I had intended ...
Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain and Canary Islands pwong... sign on the bridge says 15.23 and 33 degrees, yes, it is very hot. We walk past some Roman shop ruins and their great sewage system. There is a statue of Caesar Augustus with stone arched walls behind him. Some of the brick work here is the influence of the Muslim era.

The Basilica de Nuestra Sra. Del Pilar is really beautiful outside, with statues along the top, colourful tiles on the roof and about ...
Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain and Canary Islands dancejillBoring long day on the A23, highest col 1223m.

Looking for aire in Zaragoza when Brits James, Clare and Katie in their motorhome took us under their wing to the park they'd already stayed in. Left over from 2008 water based expo, with typically spanish rusty iron "sculpture".

35 degree C until light shower cooled us all off.

Bren washed her hair in the public drinking fountain, starting a trend with the other family.
Saragossa, Aragon, Spain davebren... going to get worse in the next couple of months. Gary headed back to Mauritania Embassy and no sign of visas, he was told to arrive at 11am and gates did not open so he gave up at 1.30pm as we couldn't spend the 4th day hanging around the Marjane Car park and heading into town so we headed off for the weekend and will detour back to see if they have done anything about it. Lucky we didn't try to obtain them at the border if it is taking this long at the embassy. We headed to ...
Spain, Portugal, West Africa, Spain kirstenian... more than 1% who are living this matchpoint version of London but for the majority of us its just one big party fuelled through exciting stepping stone jobs in every sector hence being a compete play ground for 20 somethings but from there on, who really is "having it" and not looking a knob over 35... maybe i am wrong but thats how i felt. Hence Madrid gave me everything i wanted, not too big not too small, the best nightlife par non (that i have seen it least and i ...
Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain and Canary Islands elrigsterWe said goodbye to our wonderful host Sylvia in Guadalahara. The morning light and warmth felt like late May back home. We took to the A2/E90 heading NE towards Zaragoza. One hour later we turned off the highway to visit an old Roman fort on the top of a mountain with a spectacular view, Mendinacellini. Structures ...
Lliedia, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands hollingers... Iberian peninsula. I could go on, but I think we've had enough for one day. Anyway, the Muslims were driven South by the Iberian Christian kingdoms and Zaragoza became the capital of one of the most powerful- Aragon, whose empire at one point included Sicily, the Balearic isles, Malta and parts of modern Greece (not that anyone cares, I know I don't particularly). Anyway, the castle is quite amazing and is now the seat of the Aragonese parliament- I know I ...
Zaragoza, Spain englishanddrunk11.9.07 Today was absolutely amazing. I got my schedule and it's good but when my host mom got home I was in my room organizing or something. It took me about 10 minutes to finish and when I came out my host dad was home also so I went into the kitchen to talk to them and I talked to them for hours! We talked about going out and their previous host student who still didn't speak Spanish by the ...
Zaragoza, Spain vholmes09One of the great things about being here this week has been learning about many of the Spanish customs and culture. We had a Quiemada ceremony (http://www.expatica.com/source/site_ar ticle.asp?subchannel_id=83&story_id=184 71&name=The+weird+and+wonderful%3A+witc hcraft+in+Spain), where "the Aguardiente, a strong distillation of grape skins, coffee beans, fruit and sugar is ritually set ablaze, scooped from its bowl and poured and re-poured until columns of fire ...
