Cap. 1 Un inesperado mensaje

Un día cualquiera en la oficina. Suena mi móvil y recibo un mensaje que dice "La selección para la beca en China ha sido resulta. Has sido seleccionado final, enhorabuena! Consulta tu mail". La respiración se me corto y volví a leer el mensaje. Era una noticia que esperaba desde hacía mucho tiempo con la misma ilusión que esperas la nota de selectividad, o la contratación a un puesto de trabajo que quieres. Y la verdad que me sent ...

Fiestas, Siestas and Running with the Bulls

... the entire town was out parting with us. Families, including their small children, old individuals and people our age were all out partying the night away. One of my favorite things was when we found this marching band (one of the many) whom was walking up and down the streets of the inner city, all of those who wanted to enjoy the band followed them around and enjoyed themselves dancing and singing to the locals favorites. Additionally a rather impressive fireworks show was ...

Cowering from the Bulls

... the opening of the fiesta is marked by setting off the pyrotechnic chupinazo,[1] to midnight 14 July, with the singing of the Pobre de Mí. While its most famous event is the encierro, the running of the bulls, the biggest day is 7 July, when thousands of people accompany a replica of the statue of Saint Fermin along the streets in the old part of Pamplona. San Fermin is accompanied by dancers and street entertainers, such as the ...

Sunday Night

Another day spent walking through beautiful forest and countryside. And passing through small villages that you enter by crossing bridges built in medieval times. There was also a lot of climbing of hills - again. This was really the first day we felt the pain of walking all day.

One of the fun things about walking the Camino is that you continually see the same people also walking the trail. We have the Italian man who ...

A rainy day

We'll remember this stage for the amount of mud we accumulated in our legs. It was an awkward day, at least this stage was pretty easy but the beginning (a huge climb with a lot of mud).

We founded the main refuge in Estella newly renovated, clean, with all the facilities... a nice place where we met people from Italy, Germany and New Zealand , we decided to cook together a huge tipical spanish omelet!!! We also took a walk around beatiful Estella despite of the pain in our legs!
F*cking Perdon

Now i'm writting this resume after i've finished my pilgrimage, so I should warm all the people... this stage could be one of the hardest stages of the Camino, Pamplona is an incredible city with a lot of thigs to see and to do, but I had been before, that's why we did't spleep in ...

I'm too fat to run away from Bulls..

... This was luxury living, by my standards anyway. A bloke then walked down the aisle handing out complimentary headphones and I scribbled in my journal that "this must be what it's like for people who can afford to fly on proper airlines". As you can tell I'm not used to a great deal of luxury and I was beginning to hope that a wonderfully attractive woman was suddenly going to appear with an ice bucket full of various Spanish lagers, unfortunately you can't ...

Pampaloma Spain!

... Sounded good as went to Hemingway's old haunts so was a bit bummed. But felt really sick. Had dinner with the group at the hotel and then we all headed to this awesome park opposite and had a chat and got to know each other. Was great. There were fireworks going off nearby so added to the atmosphere.

Pamplona - Running with the bulls

... It wasn't long before I was joined by two Brits and one Canadian. We said bye to Heather, personal photographer and headed downhill to see the bulls. Our walk was very cheery until dead silence fell when we saw the contents of the pen..Holy **** they look like tanks. These monsters are six feet tall and look like a ****** Off WWE SuperStar on Crack !!! You're half expecting these "things" to be sharpening their horns. If they had hands they'd probably single you out, point a ...

The 2nd running of the bulls

... beers. As soon as the opening was over, we made a mad rush to the muscle bar area to watch the statue divers. It is sheer stupidity. Climb a 3 metre high statue and jump. There was quite a bit of claret flowing, and the ambulances were making regular trips to and from the hospital. Also, if you wanted to take photos of this event, you needed to be in the right spot as everytime someone climbed, people threw eggs at them. I was hit in the face, quite a few ...
