GORGEOUS DAY!

Beautiful sunrise over the lake this morning in Paradise, MI. Left the hotel around 7am to head to the Berry Patch in Paradise as we were told they opened at 7am. We all pulled up in front of this tiny place, and the "closed" sign was still up. I went to the door and peered in, and there was a little old man inside, so I cracked the door and asked if they were open. He said he was making the coffee and ...

No wait a minute, it should be The Deer Jumped Over The Mini. Yes, a deer jumped over the Mini as we were skidding down the highway. Thank you St. Christopher! (I have a St. Christopher medal clipped to my sun visor) So the deer in Michigan have no sense of time. Today I saw three deer along the highway in different places. Lake of the Clouds just exquisite! One of the sweetest spots I've ever laid eyes on. Stopped on the southern boundary road-Jim said prettiest road he's ever been ...

The director signed the camp up on warmshowers, and luckily there is no overnight program today, so I get to stay in the bunkhouse, a large, clean, carpeted room with several bunks, lights, power and wifi! I got on the bike a bit after 6am today with cloudy skies, but dry ground. That ...

Day 39/40 - The Final Chapter: Manitowish Waters

... on their longest break for the entire summer, Kelsey's parents Dave and Lisa were also in the area, actually the next town over at Lisa’s family cottage.

Making Camp Jorn the first stop in Manitowish, we were greeted by Jesse and his girlfriend Lexi (also the camp nurse) in a Golf Cart as we parked our car. He quickly ran over to us--"Son, I need you to put your hands on the steering wheel in front of you!" I guess he was hoping ...
