We decided this was to be the penultimate stop on our New Zealand adventure. We were met off our bus in Hamilton, roughly a 45 minute drive inland from Raglan, by a friend who is local to the area. She drove us to our accommodation in Raglan and was kind enough to lend us her car for the time we were there. Did you know that the tree above Bag End has fake leaves that were imported from Taiwan and were each painted by hand? Then, because the sun had faded the leaves to a bluish color, one person was hired (something like 15 hours a day for a week or two) to repaint each leaf again to a different color to get the right hue….all for only a few seconds of film!
