We woke early - about 7ish and went for a little walk to the Hunua waterfall. It was v impressive, perhaps more than usual due to the recent heavy rain. After this we packed up and drove to Waitomo. Moving on, we arrived in Auckland about 3:00 and the bus driver proudly gave us a drive around town so we could see where the rich live. ... our time in New Zealand, I've been amazed by how many Chinese people there are about. And a short walk around Galleria, one of Auckland's most exclusive shops, showed that the main buyers of the most expensive goods were Chinese. Those restaurants are clearly nice little earners! ... prepared for us a lovely tea under beautiful trees on museum grounds. Later we walked to a nearby park to see the Chinese Lantern Festival, celebrating the Chinese New Year. This is the year of the horse. The lanterns were beautiful., and the park was mobbed.
