Today Colin and I left early at 7:30 in the morning and got a running start start to the day. We did Mad Libs for a better portion of the morning, and in the afternoon Colin got the computer out and decided to get himself psyched up for Space Camp by watching the movie "Space Camp". Shortly after the movie was done we arrived in Metropolis Illinois, home of Superman. We spent some time in Metropolis looking around at the superman statues, museums, and stores. After that we headed to McDonalds...

... peruvian dinner for us. Mom, Cindy and fam came over and ate with us. We were able to show them pictures and give everyone hugs!

Now it's reflection time! It will take a few days to process all that has happened. Peru is an amazing place and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. To see Jeff there and be able to understand this other side to him I've never been able to experience was priceless for me. Now ...
Huntsville, Alabama, United States thomasupdate... br>
The venue itself was pretty nice, and we had a really fun crew. They were so efficient and good that we had our fastest load out to date.

Decatur, AL claims to be a "Grand City on a Charming Scale"... now, I don't really buy that, but I will say, I found it's alternative title "Home of Meow Mix" to be the most exciting aspect of the city. We passed the giant Meow Mix factory on the way out of town. Sadly, it left it's jingle of singing cats in my head for about 5 min.
Huntsville, Alabama, United States bastormsoccerSo yes...we have arrived. Let's recap what it took to get here. We take off from QT no issues there. Then the girls realize we have walkie talkies. Like the previous blog says..they never got bored. I heard more lines from movies like Joy Ride (Candy Cane), 16 Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, and any Will Ferrell movie you can possible think of. I think at one time someone was jacked up ...
Huntsville, Alabama, United States bastormsoccer... camp, got our sheets and went and made our bunks in the habitat, and went out to the truck to get our gear. After doing that we put on our flight suits and prepared for the next 3 days of astronaut training. The first thing that occurred with the start of Space Camp was orientation, after that we went and got our team picture taken and then we went to see "Fly Me to the Moon" in 3D. The kids really liked the movie and I think the adults ...

Huntsville, Alabama, United States lapetitegrande3... THE WAY THE WHOLE POWWOW WAS SET UP IT WAS LIKE YOU COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN INDIAN VILLAGE ALONG THE WATER...OH THE SOUNDS ...EVERYONE INTERACTING WITH ONE ANOTHER. THE SMELLS; THE CRAFTS; THE CLOTHES; THE DANCES; THE MUSIC ALL FROM ANOTHER TIME. THE WEATHER WAS PRETTY COOL SO ALL WAS WONDERFUL. THAT IS UNLESS YOU DIDN'T BRING A WARM JACKET. THE LAND WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I AM SO GLAD WE WENT! GOING BACK! LORD WILLING...
Danville, Alabama, United States lapetitegrande3... like the area(lots of woods and mountains, and a river that runs right through town; nothing like NYC), and the job sounds interesting. Granted, I know nothing about the pulp and paper industry at this point except that I'm grateful I can wipe my ass with paper and not my hand or leaves; but I can learn anything if I put my mind to it. There was one other candidate who had gotten to final round but apparently, he didn't work out. So I got the job... See next entry.
