As Keith mentioned yesterday, I had coffee this morning with Elza Kovacs, the woman from Debrecen, in eastern Hungary who visited me in West Lafayette for one month last summer. ... in the skinny streets. After a stop at the ever-fabulous McCafe for coffee (it was the only thing open on a Sunday), we hiked up to see the castle. ... we left (mainly tourists showing up in buses). Some folks were staggering and singing as they went from cave to cave. We sampled wines at three caves, each full, large glass costing from 50 cents to $1.75. You can take a bottle with you for them to fill, but we bought a litre of good Pinot Noir for $3.50, with the bottle included. And at one cave Deb was serenaded by a trio of musicians playing a violin, guitar and bass. This was a fun interlude.
