The cave bath was a recommendation from Marianna, our Hungarian tutor, and given the grey sky and cooler temperatures, an indoor pool was more appealing than some of the closer places. The drive was long, but uneventful, until we actually reached the site. ... Someone asked if there was fast food here - certainly American chain restaurants are all over the place in Budapest, but Godollo is too small. There is a pizza window at the train station, and I passed a window downtown selling hotdogs. We opted instead to stop at the Tesco to buy ground beef and frozen french fries so that we could end our adventure with a little taste of home in front of Lord of the Rings....

Our next stop was Eger, a lovely little village about 2 hours out of Budapest. We spent the day wandering the beautiful little streets and enjoying the tranquility and small town atmosphere.
