Zblizamy sie do lancucha osniezonych gor, ktorymi wije sie autostrada. Szczyty przyproszone bialym pudrem. Przekraczamy lancuch gor, na szczescie pogoda utrzymuje sie. Znow puste drogi, wiec mozemy "gaz do dechy" ;)

Kierujemy sie do Tihany, ktore znajduje sie na malym polwyspie na Balatonem.
Kazdy z nas ma jakies wspomnienia z tych miejsc: z blizszego lub dalszego dziecinstwa.
Pilotuje Marcin, dzieki ktoremu bezblednie trafiamy do celu.

Tihany is a small peninsula on the northern side of Lake Balaton, it was a 45min bus ride from Balatonfured... The town centre was extremely provincial, with the exception of some very touristy/souvenir shops there was very little else there...

We arrived at Baltonfured by train and with a little help from the locals we found out which bus to catch to reach our campsite. We decided to stay in a cabin, rather than pitch a tent for three days with a strong prediction of rain. ... want to stop at Bratislava, the Slovak capital. This is a nice place with an historic center, showing of old buildings and a castle on a hill. Throughout the center statues have been posted, and, like any other tourist, we try to spot all! Some hard work to find the 'working man', but of course we found him in the end! For lunch I decide to have a garlic soup……well good choice for me, but not for Mira as she has to suffer for another day ...

... a treacherous dirt road for 3 km. It soon turned into mud and was a real mess.

When we show up at our decided campsite they tell us it's $30 which is insane and 3 times what we've seen elsewhere. To finish our trial filled day we camped in a ditch.

The worst trial of all was that we wouldn't be able to make church tomorrow in Pecs as we didn't make it anywhere near as far as we needed to.

It's a sort of accidental spa town. There is a natural spring and baths/swimming pool but its very low key. But the weather was clear and sunny so the washing was done and drying by 11am. Tyre pressures were found to be a bit low too and the mudguard and compass were securely reattached. I must say that I was somewhat unimpressed by Lake Balaton, although the sight of our elderly, cynical program director stripping down to a speedo for a quick dip was something I won't soon forget. Balaton has a reputation as a huge destination for Hungarians but when we were there the weather was less than ideal and it was pretty much deserted. I think most of the people who voted for the lake regretted their decision.

... r má jediný lampu na bicykli (ostatné sú v bezpečí stanov, asi aby sa nevypálili). Usudzujem, ze Valérov film zivota je "Rýchlo a zbesilo". Pomaly sa mi strácajú a ostávam v úplnej tme. Ponáhľam sa za bielym fľakom. Miestami idem v úplnej tme. K bráne prichádzame o 21:57. Neskoro, zamknuté. Brána má 2m na výsku. Valér chytá záchvat a v tme sa dozaduje zľavy na ubytovaní.
