Saturday 6th Sept: A 2-hour drive east of Budapest took us to Hortobagy where we met up with Ildiko who started doing volunteer work at the Hortobagy National Park a few days ago. We were given a 'safari' by Attila who expalined about Hungary's Przewalski wild horses and cattle ...

She was a hungarian waitress (though lives in Austria apparantly) and although the bar wouldn't take euros, she would personally change some money for us! She also recommended some Hungarian fare (is that the right fare?!) for our lunch which was fruit soup (yes, you read right, and actually not bad!) then some potato noodles with soured cream onto which we sprinkled some chilli ...

... foot in front of your face! I literally had to shield my eyes, it was insane! It came out of nowhere and left just as suddenly.
I also thought that I should add I made a little stray cat friend that I named "S'mores". Just a random feral kitten, but it brightens my day to stop and pet my little friend for a bit. I really miss my cats back home, but for now, I can get my cat fix here.
