    It would seem that Eastern Europe is covered in hot springs. This sounds like something we had to try so we have checked out a few of these but had been put off by the large number of bus loads of tourists sporting bikini type swim wear whom did not get the memo about not wearing brief swim wear if you have been overindulging in the national food "icecream". Seriously scary stuff.

    ... things just don't change wherever you travel.

    I'm off to Bratislava tomorrow. My route will take me back through Budapest, which I'll be visiting again in a couple of weeks. The travel map on this blog is going to look like a maze by the time I get through with this.

    ... four hours, until a whole group of people joined me in my cabin.

    I was a bit nervous about only having a 13 minute window between the second and third trains, but I needn't have worried. I literally got off one train, walked to the other side of the platform and got on the other. It took all of 30 seconds.

    Things that Hilli learns about Hungary: - Hungarian bikers always wave or salute the Raven - the plain is long, big and flat and the skies are very wide - almost nothing else gets grown except sunflowers or corn - loads of GM crops seem to be planted as part of a regional trial - the soil is very dark and rich - the people are kind and friendly - there IS wool to be found, a choice of six different balls in Szolnok - Guy chooses a raspberry-coloured one to remind him of the ...
