... thing. But the two notable items in Peace Park are the Fountain of Peace and the Peace Statue.

The Peace Statue is very impressive, at almost 30 feet tall. The man's right hand is pointing up to the heavens, his left hand points toward where the bomb dropped, and his face is supposed to be in deep prayer (prayer for peace).

The Fountain of Peace was actually just a pool of peace that early in the morning. I wonder if there was just no peace at that ...

Remembering I have a wide-mouth water bottle in my other bag I get up again, pull it out, and with the help of the father behind me we capture the amazing creature. ... I can't be absolutely certain, but I think we were the only two non-Japanese in the audience. After the five or so curtain calls and a short encore, the performance finished and the people sitting in front of us turned and shook hands, obviously happy at our response to the show.

... is configured with three seats on one side of the aisle and two on the other and we chose to sit on the three seat side. At Yokohama, a Japanese gentleman boarded and politely asked if he could join us, which he did. After a short time, Mount Fuji appeared out of the window on the opposite side of the train and seeing me reaching for my camera offered, in good English, to swap seats so I could take a photo.
