        ... Sankeshwar, it was around 10.00 pm at night. I guess from Sankeshwar, NH - 4 starts. We had our dinner at Nipani and dozed off. Another major city which comes en route is, Kolhapur. We reached Pune at 4 am in the morning. From the bus stand, we headed straight to Hotel Kundan Palace. The total journey lasting for around 8 hours, was a long one.

        ... but on Saturday evening I got chatting to Hannah via WhatsApp where I mentioned it... So at midnight on the dot I received a call from her wishing me a happy birthday! I also had messages from mum already, and then towards 1am I managed to Skype my Swindon family, where I was able to chat to a room of my dearest friends, who all sang happy birthday to me (and also graham made me a mocktail!)

        ... they wouldn't let me pay! Hopefully I'll be seeing more of them during my stay here.

        Today is independence day, and the community in which we are staying is celebrating with a flag hoisting ceremony... And my great aunt was asked to be hoister! Everyone gathered around, dressed up in saris, waving flags and they all sang the national anthem... The flag went up and then a guy did some poetry... Then they handed out snacks and cake! All good before lunch time ...

        She has been feeding me loooooooads, very lovely food, but much more than I usually eat... I'm gonna have to really work hard in that gym! Yesterday we were watching a bollywood version of strictly come dancing, it looked so much more fun!
