      ... He often told us what each of the animals tasted like! When driving along it was often easy to see that there was something to see as there would generally be a car parked at the scene. When the lions were discovered it almost caused a traffic jam, it was rather amusing.       ... for the surroundings. Lunch was fabulous and we all ate too much once again! ..... well ….. not everybody!! After a couple of hours of rest and a bit of WIFI connection, we headed off on a safari.

      ... Bush. We were immediately welcomed by two young giraffes. Then we drove past a herd of large black Cape Buffalo. Just down the road we encountered three young male lions who were sleeping. A fourth lion was sitting and watching. As the buffalo herd approached, the alert lion began stalking them, approaching and retreating.       ... we suddenly felt like we were in Africa with the light, the views, the homesteads, the cattle and chickens all around, and lots of lovely local fruit and vegetables being sold at the roadside. In season now...oranges, pineapple, Paw Paw, avocado, sweet potato, butternut, spinach, bananas, all very cheap if you're coming from overseas.       ... that looks out over the golf course and forest area. There is a fence around the property with a 24 hour guard gate. We sat out by the pool for awhile after unpacking. The pool was too cool to swim. Tonight we had dinner at the lodge. Tried a new fish, Kingklip. It was excellent. A good beginning to our first day in South Africa.
