The Big Buddha
My week in HK
... was on fire. The people behind me must have been impressed too because they kept saying, “Wah… Wah!” It was hilarious! Chinese people don’t really say “wow” they say “wah!” and it’s the funniest thing to hear from a bunch of people at once. The firework blasts and then “wah!” and another “wah, wah!” It was the best.

On top of that, we were packed like sardines, so it was really hot and claustrophobic. I kept thinking, "What if this elevator falls? What if we're stuck in here ...
Hong Kong still
... of time to check out tourist information. I needed the 70 bus from HK island to Aberdeen then the 973 to Stanley. Buses are so cheap here less than 50p for over half hour journey and the trip there gave me chance to see real HK. It's not so posh and glitzy as you travel inland. Tower block after tower block and shops selling ginseng and dried seafood. I saw plenty of supermarkets now, though wasn't inspired to shop in them. Aberdeen really wasn't much to ...
