We had an excellent stay at Holiday Hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet street, close from the tourist and restaurant quarters, 20 minutes walk from the Citadelle. The employees were very professional, complete breakfast, wi-fi and computers free of charge. The rooms were clean and bright, shower within a bathtub. We paid 25$ including breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids, we would definately go back again.

hue was so warm on the first day, we battled through the barrage of people giving us cards to their hotels and made it to a nice little cheap family run guest house in the middle of town.

After a 3hr bus trip this morning we arrived at the historic city of Hue around lunchtime. Some touts picked us up straight off the bus and took us to a nice clean, cheap hotel which seems like it is in the middle of things. There was a strip of places to eat and drink a few blocks away so we walked over and chos...

We took the overnight train from Hanoi to Hue. We had to share a 4 berth cabin this time, so we were a bit worried about who we were going to get (after hearing stories about crates of chickens and other animals piled high we hoped we wouldn't be sharing with a goat).
We had booked the more western carriage - Livitrain so it wasn't as bad a...
