Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Trucks are not permitted on highway on weekends or public holidays. We arrived in Salzburg 10am after a short toilet stop just before. As we were too early to check into our hotel we met a ...

Next is Salzburg and we are here for 2 nights to do the Tourist trail. We purchase our 48 hour Salzburg Card 32 euros each and set off to see as many sights as we can fit in. Cable cars to mountain peaks, Salzburg river cruise, Gardens, Hohensalzburg Fortress, Hellbrunn Palace and trick fountains.

The bullet holes in the cement walls and scratch marks in the gas chambers will be something I'll never forget. From there we continued forward to Prague, (the hidden city.) Until then, ...

... down narrow alleyways to a little bar owned by and older woman who served us great wine and grappa for 1/10 of the price I’d pay for this back home. Becky even had the house cat sit on her lap while we had our glass of wine, so she was in heaven.

We left the next morning for Opatija (pronounced O – pat – e – ya … in Slovenia and Croatia, the "j" is pronounced as a “y”). Will post more ...
