... and many of the attractions are low priced at around €4. I would only recommend the Innsbruck card if you are going to be in Innsbruck for 72 hours or if you want to see the more highly-priced attractions such as the Ski Jump and the Imperial Palace.

There is a lot to see in Innsbruck, but it is also a beautiful city which you can wander around for hours. It's a truly magical place with many hidden wonders and a real charm about it. Well worth a visit!

Day 284 4 hrs, 12.5 kms Day Totals: 16 hrs, 37.5 kms In the town of Pfunds up ahead there's supposed to be a hostel and I'm determined to get there tonight. But I still can't pass up the chance to do a quick parkbench concert in the riverside town of Tosens as I pass through. I then find a quiet country path on the other side of the stream and continue my sprint to ...

... time again. Prutz is a pretty run of the mill looking town, where I can do some shopping. It looks like a bit of a "base camp" for folks hiking/riding/skiing up in the mountains. In the plaza, a young fellow joins me for my strum session. "How do you like living here?" "There aren't many jobs here--and they're only part time. Also, I have mental problems, so I can't work a lot of ...

... to this region. And that, I believe is the key to this region's prosperity. Yes, a stable government and currency, good infrastructure, and good trade with surrounding countries helps a lot too, but I think it's the people's industriousness and creativity in creating multiple sources of income is the most important puzzle piece. Most of the children work in the city or out of country, but they still know how to do farm work. ...
