Our early morning sail in to Qingdao, PRC, was beautiful with the sun rising out of the Yellow Sea as we slowed our SOA through a multitude of Chinese fishing boats. As does happen every morning several of us regulars were gathered at our oval table aft in the port side of the Lido. Some have referred to it as our "Oval Office", where we solve all the problems of the previous day. (Or we think we do). We also laugh a lot.

Qingdao (pronounced "Zhing Dow") is a mixture of old of new. Old Qingdao is dirty and gritty. The new city is clean and shiny since it was built for the sailing events of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and it has many new skyscrapers.
