... the Tang Dynasty presided over one of China's most glorious cultural periods! This theater is very fancy (although a bit chintzy if you look at the costumes closely . . . ). We sat at tables of six and dinner was served . . Not the best dinner we have had! :-(. Oh well . Getting used to that . . For beverages on this trip - you are allowed water, soda, or beer. The last government department said NO to Teds application to sponsor a Z visa and residence permit application. No explanation, I meet or exceed their requirements, no reasons listed for the declined application... Just No.

So I am on a job hunt again!

Tonight we enjoyed our Farewell Dinner at the hotel, where we say goodbye to our friends from the tour. In the morning we fly to Chengdu, where we visit the Panda Breeding Lab and I get to hug a baby panda. I've been looking forward to this all trip! The next day, we head to Tibet--so exciting!
