... maybe, but I want to give this location it's due. Like many tourists, I often think, what is this place like?

At times it reminds of the Smokies in North Carolina with their thick rhododendron understory, small communities in the Berkshires of New England, or creeks going into the Buffalo River in Arkansas. Gradually I've learned that the bamboo is indeed a unique plant that has made this forest a treasure.

Wish we had more than parts of three days here, but we've had a great time exploring an historic culinary & natural landscape. While back in Mianyang, Chen got word his friend Chichi has been able to get time off from work and will join us. I was glad because Chen will be in an especially good mood, and Chichi adds an element of calm as I learned two weekends ago.

... so beautiful! It was worth the long walk. There are three big balls on this tower that look like pearls. That is why it is called the Oriental Pearl Tower. Auntie Rachel and I took many pictures here. A

After our stop at the Pearl Tower we took the metro train back to the other side of the river and walked home.

Today was such a wonderful day! I am excited for tomorrow!

... my walks around Nanxi.

After dinner I had to try to pack once again to accomodate all the wonderful gifts given to me. It was rather difficult. I'm hoping that my experience in packing will help me to avoid extra charges tomorrow. It was a bit difficult to zip my suitcases...

I am very sad to leave Nanxi, but am anxious for the adventure that awaits me in Shanghai.
