Picked up by a guide and driver we headed off on a tour off Dandong starting with the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China starts near Dandong and across the river from North Korea.

We hiked along the river separating China with DRPK from a spot called 1 meter leap were one could just about jump into DRPK. There were armed Chinese and Korean soldiers watching. When we got to the first tower of the wall we followed the wall ...

... to get your "allocated" seat or bed.The "hard sleeper is not all bad. A six berth compartment with no door to the passage way. I got a reasonable nights sleep as it was lights out at 10.30 and everyone actually went to sleep - not like my last two nights at the hostel where everyone wanted to talk, and come and go, all night - so I was reasonably fresh to explore Dandong after I arrived at 9am.First stop was the "War to Resist American Aggression and Aid Korea ...

    Placeholder

I'm struggling to articulate my thoughts on North Korea and rather than write a feeble minded review I thought I'd leave a placeholder here The only reason I bother is so that the blogs make chronological sense. I'll edit this into a proper blog at some time. In the meantime read our next blog about the great ...
