... long day trip that we ventured on by a number of different public buses to see the world's largest Buddha, hand-carved into the cliff face. It was certainly big, with toes the size of a very tall NBA player, and ears old men would be proud of. And then there's the bad; Sadly the days we've been in Chengdu have been heavy pollution days. ... horrible accommodations and no one spoke English. It wasn't that pretty so they endured it for nothing. The PCOMers who went to Beijing had a fabulous time. When I go there I plan to take 5 days and see th Forbidden City, the summer palace, Tian Amen (? spelling) Square, the Great Wall and as much else as I can see. One of the students I met there last night at dinner was on leave from the TCM Univesity in Beijing.
