On the morning of Friday 7th Sep, I took the 9hour train from Lijiang to Kunming, arrived in Kunming 5pm... At 7pm took the overnight 10 hour train to Guiyang.. Arrived in Guiyang 6am on Saturday 8th Sep. Stayed in Guiyang for one night to visit some friends at the Guiyang ...

My last day in Guiyang so needed to make sure I saw the river and People's Square lit up at night. Was really lucky as the weather as by this evening the skies had cleared. Probably the best evening of my two weeks here to decide to wander around the city.

Saw John and Kathy (Buckley) and the children to say my goodbyes and wish them all the very best. Their eldest daughter, Edie was just back from a trip to Chengdu ...

... of the storm' when seem to dry up a little - but then crosses over to the left side of my nose and eyes. Weired I know, but the same every time I get a cold. My eyes look as though I've been crying my eyes out for days and feel like the proverbial '**** holes in the snow'. Oh, and by the way did I tell you I always feel very sorry for myself when I have a cold.......

Anyway, by 1 o'clock or so, the 'eye of my cold' had arrived and was feeling a little better ...

... then backtracked back down towards the direction of Kunming, down to Lijiang after visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge. Instead of then heading off in the direction of Chengdu though, they have opted to return to Kunming as Eion is concerned there may be a problem with their cv joint. It so happens that there is a Fiat garage in Kunming - which is where Ivan's camper van is.

So, it occurred to me that seeing it had gone pear shaped re Roger and driving home from ...
