After lunch and dinner at some local restaurants we were treated to a Kungfu Show. It was packed with 99.9 % foreigners but it was a great show with a lot of history on Kungfu and the Shaolin Temple. Shaolin is the birthplace of Kungfu and at one time was a guarded secret. In fact, when Bruce Lee was teaching Kungfu to foreigners, he received a lot of backlash from the Chinese ...

Today was an eventful day in Zhocun, China. We loaded our luggage on the bus for a 2 hour bus ride to Zhoucun. Zhoucun is an ancient commercial village-town. Normally it would take about 1 hour to drive here, but the traffic is so congested that the time is doubled.

I knocked on doors this morning at around 7:15 am to do Taichi; Sam and Rodrigo were game. We met up with about 12 other students from another group. Our Chinese Taichi Instructor did not show up, so I decided to teach the kids some basic taichi. It was a little nerve wracking since we drew a big audience, but the kids did fine.

The kids are in Chinese class all day today, about 5 hours. They will be preparing for a YCT (Youth Chinese ...

... takes around 5-10 minutes and is a way for the Chinese to chat with their friends. Traditionally they do not drink tea because they are thirsty, but because they want to show respect to their friends.

Jackson had the opportunity to make tea and go learned how to do all of the steps. It is a very complex way to make a beverage! The kids enjoyed the tea, a green tea, and everything that goes into ...
