Sara:

...Seriously people think it is acceptable to hock up disgusting things and spit all over the floor, wether that be in the street, a cafe, bus, or train, people spit everywhere here!

We got here after a horrific 10 hour bus journey, it is very hot, about 33 degrees.

The bus seemed to have a problem with its suspension, and we were sitting over the back wheels going up, down and around rocky mountains. We ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China tomsara... going to the police station! a woman took us here. I always say that the police should help the people, not terrifed them - and this is true here too!

We are well - it is hot and humid, and Billy told us to eat less and to drink more water - I tasted their tea and coffee: not recomendated but that's what they have. water we buy - but there are containers of purified free water everywhere - Eyal is afraid to drink it.

Guyang, Guizhou, China rivkapi... ages though....12 would be early!
people have been doing that at most gigs so far and they've all been really nice and its been heaps of fun to go out with them and taste the food (we seem to always have midnight meals!) and then crash after that! after the second Chongqing gig (at Nuts club) we went and got barbeque which is great!! - you choose which skewers you want...there's like potato, zucchini, mushrooms, meats, intestines, chicken skin ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China jazzlou... spooky. Helen, our guide, was obviously quite bemused at this unusual stopover and sent a pic' to her boss of the Crazy Cables!

More mountains and another, even longer and taller suspension bridge under completion. Later we stopped for lunch. We were glad that Helen didn't take us to the restaurant next to us as it served dog! We are in the Guizhou Province where dog is the provincial delicacy. We leave this province tomorrow, so the dogs are safe for now!
<br ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China nz2uk... has found herself at the center of national attention as a poster girl on the Internet. She has attracted more than 146,000 hits in less than a week after her photos were posted on the Internet by a photographer and blogger who goes by the name "Yuan Xing Bi Lou". The blogger was reportedly so enamored of her beauty when he visited the region that he posted five pictures of A Xiang-yi in traditional Miao costumes. Netizens have left hundreds of messages for China's "most ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China happysheep... Not much more to see here, so we decide to go back to Guiyang for some lunch. After that, a visit to the Hongfu Temple, on top of a hill in Qianling Park. Another silly visit to a budist temple. They're all the same: sculptures, incense burners... Once you've seen one, it is nonsense to visit others. Go back to Guiyang center for last visit in the province, the Jiaxiu Pavilion. A small building in the middle of the river, with nothing ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China josep7778... with strange names and shapes, beautiful colour illumination to enhance the incredible effects of the stones and rocks. More than 2 and a half hours walking inside the cave, and only explored a 20% of it. Incredible. It was really worth! It's almost 3 o'clock, so we are hungry and our guide also, and have an splendid lunch. Then, another 4 hours of road torture towards Guiyang ...
Guiyang, Guizhou, China josep7778... child-marriages for health, respect and practical reasons. In Pollard's time, schools were so developed in Shimenkan that two thirds of the Miao population in the Wumeng Mountain area became literate. Two students even went on to get a doctoral degree in medical studies. Now, the illiteracy percentage of Miao people here is far higher than the Han and Yi people (less than 10%), and not a single university student has come from Shimenkan since 1949.
Shimenkan, China cncp... were lots of tourist shops selling the kind of objects you would only ever consider buying when you both lost your sanity and are on holiday, but as we headed to Qingyan I was delighted to find myself in a busy, yet calm and relatively unpopulated corner of the world. There really is nothing to Qingyan, yet it is pretty and quaint. It's unique feature is that it has been preserved and where appropriate tastefully redeveloped. Whether this protection against some of the ...
Guiyang, China robjstaplesI love waterfalls so off Phil and I went from Kunming on a 17hr train ride to Guiyang to discover China's largest waterfall. Guiyang is not a beautiful city and is very industrialized, making everything very smoggy. But it does have monkies! After a naughty old man sent us on a mad goose chase up some mountains we eventually found some friendly monkies just around the corner from where we had started. They're great fun to feed and everyone else has great fun watching the ...
