Sudbury, Ontario, Canada lhugli... forest started to include some hardwoods which we were surprised to see starting to turn colour, another reminder that it is September. It was a very long day. We drove 555 miles today which is the most we have driven in any one day. We arrived at Brian's sister's about 8:30.
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada rosemarys... is a haven for wildlife and birds. We have the opportunity to go on game walks by our guides to experience the full splendour of the delta.
September 29 - DAY 16 - NATA
Return to Maun and continue east towards Nata. The birdlife in this area is particularly spectacular.

... Las Vegas ! Mind you we had to steer kids eyes away from certain things ! There were rides, Ripley's believe it or not and scarey museums ! I just have to mention here that Coralyn and I went to the Frankenstein haunted house and there were 2 teenage boys behind us who screamed louded than us and wanted us to go first ! We laughed our heads off and screamed extra loud just to freak them out ! Needless to say our voices were hoarse ! When we went for ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada pringlefarmToday we explored Sudbury noticing how green it has gotten, such a huge change from when I arrived here in 1967 after having been hired to teach here over the phone. It was nothing but barren rocks everywhere! Now with the greening projects that have been going on for a number of years the chaange has been dramatic. We spent the day visiting members of Brian's family.
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada rosemarys... cemetery to find the stone we discovered that Brian's glasses were missing so we tamped it a second time and fortunately found them. We arrived in Sudbury about 4:30, had supper then visited Brian's parent's graves. Then we went to his sister Bridget's house and visited for the evening with Bridget, Mrs. Peplinski, Steven, Jenn, and Steph. The rain put us to sleep.
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada rosemarys... just another rock.......but colored different. Sudbury claims to have over 130 lakes within its boundaries. To me, most are muskegs SO between them spilling over their banks and minerals leaching from the rocks, water in creeks and rivers is rusty brown, frothy and very unappealing for a swim. We Visited: INCO Mine - An underground tour where you see the changing mining technologies from the late 1800's to present day. Basically, it's a museum located 164ft below ground ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada jimcabaySo first I think it is time to explain why I decided to travel to Sudbury and not continue on to Winnipeg where many westward passengers start their adventures. Although I believe the photos I just uploaded to the last blog explains clearly enough let me state my personal reason. The North part of Ontario is like another province to many people living in Ontario. It has gotten so bad that there is actually signs up here that read, "Don't lose the north ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada mgraveli... rock in the world, but the beautiful green landscape around these rocky areas was quite a contrast to my previous time here. I obviously didn't pay attention when I visited for a flying visit a couple of years ago. We learned a lot more about Ontario on this visit, finding out that there are over 250,000 lakes in the province with over 25% of the world's fresh water in this area. Hard to believe that it is inland. We ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada chrisl34... magnificent. i am finding that i am learning a lot here allready, as linda is using the parelli style riding of "natural horsemanship" where no bridal as such is used and certainely no bit in the mouth, the horse is supposed to respond to you by touch alone and body language....its quite hard as its totally new to me as always being in charge of the horse and yes, being a bossy little madam to it, using brute force and a whip ...
