    ... not get working key cards, the wifi didn't work, the room smelled terribly of smoke, and at one point, 2 of the employees came barging into our room (apparently they forgot that they gave us that room). Once we got settled though, everything was better. We ordered pizza, watched TV, and were able to really relax and just lay around all night - which we desperately needed after traipsing around Chicago for 3 ...

    ... our hotel, and we happened to get upgraded to this two bedroom, two bath mini apartment! It's a shame that we are only in this hotel for a night but at least we will get to enjoy some space for a little bit.

    More driving tomorrow -- thanks for keeping up with the blog, I know I have been inconsistent lately with blogging! I will try to update daily for the rest of the trip (crazy to think that we get to New York on Saturday!!)

    ... around today. Verena and Kyle headed into work this morning, while I slept (I hadn't been able to sleep last night) before Kyle came back to pick me up to take me to the bus stop.     A Capitol Walk

    ... between two lakes.   The Capitol is a magnificent building.  Security is minimal.  You can go any place which is open except the offices. We started under the huge dome on the first floor and watched demonstrators singing protest songs. Took elevator to the 4th floor and walked up to the 5th floor. There is a small plastic "bubble" in the side of the dome which gives very unique views both up and down. Went out on the walkway around the outside at ...
