    ... hours in Dallas, we stayed in the airport. The land is very flat an seems to go on forever. The airport is actually located on the outskirts of the city, so the city was only visible in the distance.
    The customs department was very 'high-tech'. There were self check in booths as though we were in a grocery store. White slips of paper with our information was dispensed from the machine. then we were on our way to the next terminal.

    ... Fun. The water was high though and we didn't feel safe getting down on the lower level as waves were sending water there. I don't know if Lake Michigan has rogue waves?     ... and they were leaving as we arrived. This is a beautiful little canyon with lots to enjoy starting with a walk through that deciduous forest. I was disappointed I had forgotten so many of the trees, recognizing only a few. Then the layers of rock and the trickle of the stream, saw a turtle and a snake, heard the birds.
