... we traveled almost 400 miles from Pecos to Austin, Texas. We started driving around 11AM, made a stop for gas, another for grocery shopping and lunch in Sonora, TX, a stop for coffee and shakes in Fredericksburg (indeed a German town we should have visited a day later when Germany plays Brasil in the semi-final), and then drove on to Austin. However, our plan to bar hop was scuppered when we got talking to the singer in the first bar who told us we should go to this other bar and he would give us a lift there an offer we couldn't refuse.
