Anchorage, Alaska, United States pamericas... would be a park lodge or visitors center. What a mixed bag we Alaskans are.

Since this is my first blog, I thought it best to start at home. I think world travelers want to come here. They just have to put with AK's eccentricities. Half the people in the state live within the city limits of Anchorage. In the book "Coming into the Country" John McPhee, wrote something like...Anchorage is not a great town, but it has the best out-of-town any town ever had. It's ten ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States dellarose... wait in line. We got a full size car, an Impala, and it did have a large trunk and comfy seats and served us well. Over the course of the trip we logged 1344 miles!

Our hotel for the first night was the Anchorage Embassy Suites and it was very nice. The hotel was walking distance from a Fred Meyers and a 24hr. Safeway. Both supermarkets had excellent deals on souvenirs, particularly the $3.00 Alaska socks at Safeway ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States caren4242... the mountains. Anyway, on the way down the mountain, I came across a very unusual site, at least for me. Two dogs were circling around and barking at a moose. The moose was charging at the dogs in an effort to deliver a stomping. It reminded me of what it must be like for the moose when the wolves attack. I thought to myself, I must stop and get a photo of this. I pulled over and grabbed my camera, jumped out of the car and ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States jrsherman81054... lessened and we headed out to the viewing area. The bore was expected at 4:07 pm, but the wind blowing strongly in the opposite direction slowed it down. The bore was not spectacular, but there was definitely a wall of water a foot or so high moving down the inlet. So our wait was not in vain. Then we geocached our way back to the trailer for dinner. Tomorrow we move down to Homer on the Kenai Peninsula.
Anchorage, Alaska, United States eagle46... had a few hills in the beginning. We pulled off a lot to check out the scenery. Around the airport, we sat around watching planes land. The hard part was at the end as the last mile was all up hill - big time. Pooh bike was not working too well so she had to walk most of the way up. I did make it to the top without stopping which was a huge accomplishment. Once at the top, we came right back. This time the huge hill was a lot of fun as we sped downhill at 20 mph ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States scoonpooh... miracles. I spent half the drive just beating myself up mentally over the incident when I got a brainstorm. I asked someone for a recommendation for a body shop which one of the locals in Eagle Creek was quick to provide. I called the guy and he agreed to give me an estimate. My thinking was if it was cheaper than our insurance deductible that had to be much better. Also, I have no idea what the car rental agency would charge when they saw the dent ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States doodlebugs... the
highlight of our trip, there many animals here to see in their natural
habitat (not like a zoo) and all the proceeds from the admission ticket
and gift shop purchases go to taking care of them. I even got to feed a
deer. My alaska trip was amazing and I look forward to the day that I
can revisit this beautiful state of wilderness.
Anchorage, Alaska, United States gnatalia... of their antlers. Still no sighting of Rudolph! Next we were bused to Wasilla, to the Iditarod Race Headquarters where we learned about the world famous annual dog race of over 1,000 miles. We got to meet some dogs and even some of their puppies before going for a dog "sled" ride. It technically was not a sled as it had four wheels. This made it much easier for the dogs to pull as there was not any snow! Our day with the group ended at a local ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States pat-don-alaska... She loves me like a mother should like a daughter, and I love her the same way. But I still know that my real mom is in my heart somewhere.
I found this out a few days ago, actually. I always thought my step-mom was my real mom until I asked on my 15th birthday.

Write again tomorrow.

Lovegossip909
