Up around 7:30am this morning to prepare for today's road run, the couple of days we got to rest at Darla's has rejuvenated us. We took a while to pack and have our final home cooked breakfast for a while. We made an emotional farewell to Mike and Darla (we love these guys) before heading off to Little Rock. Mike told us of a different route via …

Oh boy, what are we in for once we get out west ...

We had a quick breakfast at the Super 8 in Knoxville before getting on the road about 8:30 this morning. It was an easy drive this morning with only a little rain.

Stopped at Arby's for lunch and to gas up the rigs. A half mile down I-40 after lunch, the traffic came to a standstill. We wasted about an hour getting through the construction zone and on the road to Arkansas.

... lots of pictures, stop frequently for coffee, hunt for ridiculous post cards, and talk to the locals. On especially longer days I seek her out around 6 am as a potential riding buddy because she always makes the miles pass more quickly. My absolute favorite memory of Coady thus far involves a vivid image of her running and jumping off a rock (without a second thought) into a freezing swimming hole, coming up gasping for air and doggy paddling astonishingly fast to the shore in a ...
