... colour in the sun, very exciting! Then found a half price jewellers and got a new ring to replace Charlotte's lost one yay. Then went on the 17 mile drive around the Monterey peninsula, saw big waves and the famous Lone Cypress Tree. Charlotte then fell asleep during the Day After Tomorrow, which was very exciting having now been to New York and LA!

We walked along Capitola Beach where local children were building dens out of the mass of driftwood that had been washed ashore. As the sun set, we walked down the pier, where the local fisherman were hanging out. We stood gazing out to the ocean and then, to our surprise, we saw a dolphin, weaving in ...
Capitola, California, United States jimandlaura... great for a first impression of a Cali beach...but then again I've always kind of considered Cali to be gross with city side-effects...kind of like the ones I had in front of me. Santa Cruz, California, United States ktowers86Thursday was the day of our return trip to LA. We'd done the north-bound journey via Interstate 5, with the intention of taking the Pacific Coast Highway (the "PCH") for the south-bound trip. The only problem with the PCH is that for much of it the road winds its way along the coast and speed is not an option. This, of course, is the very reason for driving it - the route must be one of the most spectacular in the world. Our guidebook ...
Big Sur, California, United States jimmcauliffeI got alot of comments re how much food we seem to be eating on this trip. Hello guys.... we have been away for 3.5 weeks now, and we do need to eat 3 meals a day..... so that does work out to quite alot of food!! Hahahhahaha!!!

It might just seem exaggerated because I have been keeping a food-log on here, and posting the pics up. You see.... I have to keep the blog anonymous, so I can't put up pics of us, so food will have to do! :-)
Monterey, California, United States zwergliazrael... park also hiking trails that went right a long the bay. On the trail we hiked, we saw a ton of seals. They were black, white, and gray, and some of them had spots. At the end of the trail, we found tide pools. What we had been looking for but never expected to see at that park. They were amazing!! We found star fish, sea urchins, hermit crabs, snails, tons of regular crabs… Ahh ...

LOL I have not made friends with the family dog yet, every time I move there is either a growl or a full on bark fest so we'll see if he gets used to me over the time I am here.
