... planned to attend some of the concerts that continue through to Jan 6th. Christmas Eve dawned soggily in New York. It was grey, foggy and rainy. I didn't even venture outdoors until early afternoon, when we departed in the new white Jeep (yes, my brother bought a Jeep!) with Mal and Hilary, bound for their country house in Callicoon, at the southern end of the Catskills. Mal and Sean had gone on Sunday to begin preparations for our Christmas there, and Mal had returned to drive ...

      ... the climb.

This climb was AMAZING!!!! Talk about some exposure! There is this one part of the beginning of the second pitch where you move up and out of a roof. To get out from under the roof, you are squatting like a frog. You have to move yourself out from under the roof and find the side pull with the right hand and slowly stand up to find a good left hand over the roof to move onto the rock face. When you are in the position of the squat, if you ...

Along the walls of the pools are cascading waterfalls. A border surrounds the pools that has the names of each lost life engraved on it. This is a beautiful tribute to the 2997 lives lost that day. The majority of the museum is located at bedrock level of the site and is 7 stories below ground. It is full of ...

      Sorry, I've had no internet!

That's right... three nights in a row without internet!

The first, at Monticello, their internet had gone down. The next, it was so slow I couldn't even access e-mails. Last night I was on the road.

But I assure you I have some great things to tell you all about my visit to Walkill, particularly Patterson and, finally, Brooklyn.

I should get these ready tonight... thanks for your patience.
