A travel blog entry by tezzatravels on Feb 28, 2015

... Nobody was calling me about it so left. There is a 4,000 Guyanese dollars [$20 US equivalent] set of departures taxes that had to be paid. It's been well over a decade since such charges were not part of the ticket. Immigration was next and then security scanning, the latter involving a body scan; all survived.

The Horseshoe Falls are the Canadian ones and from this side the falls are much more impressive than the american ...

... in July! Lovely to see them. A bit silly of me not to take a photo of them :-( The evening was spent with our hosts. We had a delicious dinner of BBQ ribs etc. It was a special evening of chatting, laughing, teasing and then prayer together. It was Fred's birthday the next day when we would be leaving so we remembered him that evening. So back towards Chicago on Wednesday. About an 8 hour drive so planning to do it in a day. Cheerio! ...

So, there I went with a huge suitcase dragging behind me and a heavy backpack, trying to find my way through the underground maze... No easy task!!! Within a few minutes I was drenched in sweat but still happy about being able to avoid the freezing temperatures outside.

My real enemy was not the heat but rather the labyrinth I found ...
