After driving most of the way in the rain, yesterday we arrived at Hinsdale, New Hampshire, just across the river from Vermont.

... Elijah to go to sleep prior to arriving because he was so fired up (and insistent) to see the Welcome to Massachusetts sign. Finally, around 10:45pm he fell asleep but we pulled over at the sign a little over midnight and I roused him to look out the window and see it. He said, "I'm alive!" and promptly fell back into a deep sleep.

Here we were able to see original manuscripts from Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson. The special collections curator wasn't there, but a woman on staff unlocked it and allowed us to walk around.
