This Thursday I fly out at 5:55 a.m. I'm flying into Baltimore to visit my friend Laura, who lives in Virginia but works in Washington D.C., and we are taking a road trip up to Toronto with a stop in Niagara Falls, and possibly a stopover/solo trip to New York City. Woah. I'm excited!
I don't feel like bothering with my laptop, so I'll add entries when I get back.
... Not only were the leaves changing but there was snow from a storm the other day. It was crazy, one day last week I was wearing shorts and a tank top and the next it was FREEZING, I had to scrape ice off the window, could see my breath and was wearing tons of layers. Spring and fall weather in Utah is pretty random.
Millcreek Canyon had many hiking and mountain biking ...
... looking for is right under our nose. The volunteer looked up Ancestry Records using partial names and pointed out that Eliza H. Corbett could be the Howard E. Corbett I was looking for. I had discarded this record previously, but sure enough all the other information fit, and I found my paternal grandparents. Can’t wait to get back and do more searching. Yippee.
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States journal70I went into Moab this morning and had a great breakfast in the Eklectic Cafe and Collectables. There was quite a crowd this morning at the tables, each with a glass top covering a display of small collections. I went after dinner last night to browse the little shops and heard a lot of German accents and again in the cafe.
I got to Canyonlands, near Arches, about 9:00 a.m. and due to ...

Hmm, perhaps it would be best to leave before word gets out that there's a stranger in town.
Not sure if its because of the elevation or the time of year, but the temperature went from 95 to 45 when the sun went down. Brrrr.
... tailed it out of the mountains. They might be beautiful, but they make for slow travels. We drove all day and just barely got out of the mountains. We were in Idaho for a couple of miles, we were Utah for a couple of miles, but some how we are still camping in Wyoming tonight.
Anyway, we are headed to Salt Lake City tomorrow to check it out and definitely to hit a Mexican restaurant called the Red Iguana. Talk to you soon...
Nothing exciting, no longer tourists, just Intersate travelers. Crossed great salt flats, home of the Bonneville Speed . Stopped at Salt Lake City H-D for dots, clothes and a wind breaker. I have lots of excess wind from under the windshield, hope it helps. Sleeping early, need to make Nebraska tomorrow. May not post tomorrow as pictures get boring. Bye.
Evanston, Wyoming, United States 7x70on66... is boarding? Why didn't you say so! I shall escort you to the front of the line toot-sweet!" No, I didn't miss the flight. A 9-hour flight, a 9-hour flight... But I did luck out in that the seat next to me was vacant! There is a God! That really helped and I actually got some sleep on the flight. I also got to see some movies, eat more French food, drink more French wine, and fill out my Customs declaration. My suitcase will ...
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States dgookin... our hear rate up faster than running off the side of a mountain? How about coming down the canyon, and having your car hit a slippery spot, go spinning backward careening toward a guardrail with a twenty foot drop into a river. Since you are reading this you now know I didn't die. Nathan's superb driving skills saved us and we lived to return the snowshoes on time. Will write more stories as they evolve or don't.
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States whereisbrian... Oh well, that just added to the charm. By this point, everywhere you look it's apparent you're really in the west...and I'm lovin it!! We get gas, go to Burger King, Flash eats Will's burger and we're on the road again. It was late and, unfortunately, not far into Wyoming it got too dark to take pictures. Flash was asleep...of course. I was asleep...of course. Will was chugging coffee and No-Doze trying to stay awake. He woke me several times and tried to get me to talk to him ...
