... own impressive mansions and estates in choice spots. There are many parks and public access areas all along the way too. We found a small diner for breakfast.
At about 4:30 we arrived in Daytona Beach, a city that sees its share of tourists during Daytona 500 race week but is pretty much deserted at this time. We checked into hotel and frolicked a bit on the beach ...
... Orlando around 11am and we stopped in for lunch at grandma and grandpa in Boynton Beach before making it back home finally around 5pm. After off loading the car we went for a bicycle ride around the neighborhood, which is the kids favorite activity these days.
By the snoring going on behind me I believe Rebecca and Christopher had a fun weekend as well, and now it is my time to hit the sack.
... to drive back, avoiding the tollways. Googlemaps on my phone, however, kept leading me astray ... so I gave up and jumped on the toll way. With the long drive to reach the airport, then the long drive around the airport, then the long drive through the parking garage, I arrived at the departure gate just as my group was boarding.
Did have an exit row, which was nice. Read my book ("The Heart of the Nile") for the entire time. Arrived on time in LAX, but now ...
The day was warm and clear -- attended a few sessions and managed to talk another walk around the Shingle Creek Nature Trail.
In the evening, a colleague and I went to the Morse Museum of American Art to see the Tiffany glass -- I particularly wanted to see the Tiffany windows they had on display ...
... beach, where we saw dolphins bathing.
In the afternoon we went to Wekiwa Springs Nature Park, near Sanford, where we rented a canoe and we ventured into the jungle where we saw huge turtles, many birds, snakes and especially aligators. Half way we have fallen a tropical rain, filling the boat with water and soaked us. The adventure was worth it.

... Not to mention our bartender was from Jamaica, and pretty entertaining all on his own.
We finally headed out of Georgia, around 2PM, and we we're headed for Florida. It wasn't to many miles from Savannah to Florida. We decided to drive all the way to Daytona Beach, more today less tomorrow was our motto. Which we will explore as soon as the sun comes up.
Till next time, in Florida!

... of shirts by my dresser, the pile of shirts by my closet, and my closet itself picking out stuff that I would like to wear for the next three months in London. The key part of that sentence is "like to wear." I have plenty of clothes (still not quite enough though) and yet I face the dilemma of having nothing to wear. I wake up every morning having no idea what I feel like wearing that ...
Oviedo, Florida, United States howlingcoyote19... Wekiva River between river banks edged with sabal palms, purple astors and an occasional orchid, among a myriad of other plants' with absolutely no mention of alligators and the Florida Black Bear found here!!!!! This was after our hosts the previous day had been telling us how surprised they were of some of the statistics of alligator attacks - apparently it is reported that alligators are the cause of over 15 deaths a year, more ...
Deltona, Florida, United States traceourtracks... when I went to China the first time I went to the Embassy in San Francisco and applied in person. We've been shopping hotels and reading the numerous blogs and tips on travel forums. We've watched other travelers on YouTube visiting places we are hoping to go ourselves. I just purchased a DVD via Amazon about the history of China. The sheer amount of information available via my computer in my little Winter Park apartment on a rainy Saturday is simply amazing.
Winter Park, Florida, United States beckybizzaroThe day started with the call of what seemed like a million roosters, which was then followed by the rumbling clackety-clack of another freight train. This is the $6.54 alarm clock. I fully intended to use the Interstates the rest of the way to my destination of Fort Myers, Florida but sometimes chance does you a favour. I pulled off I-26 near Orangeburg, SC in search of a Waffle House. I ended up on US Route 178 which took me through flat cotton fields where ...
