... way, some with rifles. This required getting in and out of the small jeep to let the people pass.
Upon arrival at our hostel I realized I had messed up, bad. We tore that ****** 1987 jeep apart looking for my American passport (which is like gold) but with no luck. The guilt of being responsible for missing our flight to Peru the next day starting to sink in. It was obvious what I had to do, so within 30 ...
(Erica) I wake up at 4am to shower, finish packing and head to the airport. My mom calls me at 5am as I'm rushing out the door to inform me that their flight is delayed due to weather (blizzard like) conditions in the New York/ New Jersey area and 100s of flights to the Newark airport (where our layover is scheduled) are being canceled. Before I go on...the tone in my mom's voice was flooded with anxiety and I begin to feel the pain I imagine Tom is experiencing. I ...

Manhasset, New York, United States virginiab16... exciting sort of way, but in the negative, scared, 'lets turn the truck around and drive back' sort of way. Our storage unit proved to be tiny. Way too tiny for the mountain of stuff in our truck. Half way through the process of unloading, we had to rent out a second space. At that point we had spent 1/3 of what our sublet cost on storage. We jammed those suckers full. There is NO space left in room 2-9-9 or 4-14-29. We to literally throw boxes over our head to ...
Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York, New York, United States cleff... 17 each) was good, in some ways better than the Empire State Building as you got to see the Empire State from the Top of the Rock which, lets face it, is one of the most impressive sights to be seen anyway. From there we walked up 5th Ave to Central Park, again it was sooooo hot, we grabbed some sodas and sat on a bench people and squirel watching for a while, then went round the Central Park Zoo ($8 each). this was actually better that I expected and it was ...

New York City, New York, United States ebenbolterThis past weekend/early week, I made a quick jaunt back to NY. We had a client workshop in Westport CT on Monday and Tuesday, so I took the opportunity to make a last minute trip home on Saturday. Productive 24 hours! Was able to see my parents, two brothers, grandmother, and a few aunts and uncles. And, squeeze in a haircut - which seemed to be prohibitively expensive in Copenhagen.
New York, New York, United States lizhenning... their daughter give a sermon at the big Presbyterian church in Manhattan. It was very weird seeing her since we have not seen her in about 15 years, though they live only half a block away. We did have a nice chat, and then sat there, awkwardly, our conversation having run its course, waiting the 45 minutes for the plane to board.! The flight was uneventful. Jet Blue is a nice airline, with TV ...
