Our first stop on the road to South America was an overnight in Dallas, Texas on Spencer's B-day. So, I scouted out a famous BBQ place that was close to the airport and our hotel - Hard Eight Texas BBQ was it! We ordered a tray of meat - seriously. We chose a sampler tray of different meat including; beef brisket, chicken jalapeno poppers, spicy sausage, and some beef skewers plus we added corn on the cobb. Everyone's favorite was the beef ...

... to get to the Farmers Market for a late lunch. However, disappointingly, we found out it is closed until Spring 2015 despite frequent advertising around Downtown that it's open 7 days a week. Therefore we headed back to a more local (to our accommodation) steak restaurant where we indulged on Buffalo steak (amazing! and softer than beef), shrimp, roast veggies, salad, dessert, and 2 drinks all for $30 each (including tip)!
