    ... humid) and we were on the way to Destin which was halfway between Clearwater and New Orleans. It was a 6 hour drive so I wasn't particularly looking forward to it... Clearwater was a great stop, it was fun having the dog and good company in the apartment and the beach was ok. It probably was a bit too touristy for me.     We left our little slice of heaven at 8 am Italy time and after connecting through Zurich, landed at 7pm EST - roughly 18 hours of travel time - in Tampa, Florida, United States of America. The overly officious ticket agent in Milan that checked us in made sure that our bags were the very last off the plane prolonging the torture, only to have it prolonged another hour yet by the customs agent who decided that we were a very suspicious lot indeed, sticking us in a glass holding pen ...

    Checked out of the hotel and headed to the ship a little before Noon. It was only about 5 min by cab, to the pier. The line to drop your luggage was extremely long, and took us almost 20 min. Then upstairs for a much shorter security line, and no line for Suite Guest check in.
