... decided on a Thai takeout for dinner (of which there was more than enough for us all ) and then we sat and had drinks in the yard in The Snug. This is a gazebo with sides, lights and a gas fire and really comfortable patio furniture . Pictures to follow. This completed our first full day in Vancouver Island. A brilliant one all round. Tomorrow we will be exploring more of the island and making the most of the good weather forecast to take in some scenic views across the ...

Of course, we managed to visit all sections of the gardens and after weaving and turning we popped out at the pick ...

... here. But it's still very different from the Dutch beaches. On our way back we both felt that our bottoms were aching from the seats. It was even harder to go all the way back home then getting at Miracle Beach.

When we were (finally) back the girls were getting ready for their first real performance of this week. I helped them put on some makeup and after supper I went to yoga. Next week will be the last time for me to ...

... Victoria. It wasn't actually far from the depot but like I said, the weather wasn't the best and there was a slight hill. If Vancouver is predominantly flat, Victoria has quite a few different gradient levels, which is really interesting when you are carrying two bags and a suitcase.
