    ... shell and closer to the audience in order to stop the sound from becoming too boomy. With plenty of time to rehearse this afternoon we felt comfortable by performance time and did the best concert of the tour to date.

    We met the NZ Consulate General briefly after the concert and she spoke very kindly of our performance and was clearly proud to have representatives of New Zealand in her adopted city.

    ... a concert this evening in one of the Opera House studio theatres. The band were in the audience and it was fantastic to see them perform from in front rather than from behind! Their programme was a fabulous mix of performance, audience interaction and demonstrations of Maori Culture. (See photos).

    In the photos you will see a picture of an angry taxi driver. On 10 occasions today groups of us have been refused rides in cabs back to our hotel ...

    ... the norm (in extremely broken Chinglish), accepted our fate and sat down. After about an hour of sitting around in someones squalorific lounge/shop front, another similar mini bus picked us up. With the promise that this was taking us to the bus, we sat tight and waited for the short journey to the bus station, which funnily enough, was directly across the road.

    Except, we didn't stop at the bus station, and in fact ended up on an even more daredevil road ...

    ... zoo and the water park are considered the 1st and 4th best tourist attractions in Guangzhou. It was super busy on the train to get there and people were everywhere when we arrived but after a brief scare with the cashier taking our credit card away somewhere out of sight we were in the safari zoo and it was surprisingly vacant. It was an incredibly large area and we made our way walking around seeing the monkeys, meerkats, pygmy hippos, elephants, pandas, giraffes and many ...

    ... is where we stayed with both adoptions. We were hoping to get pictures with the girls at the waterfall and the big red couch in the lobby. The traditional places to have your picture taken when you are adopting. However, it is under massive renovations so it is completely closed. We are at the Victory Hotel which is beautiful and light years ahead of our last hotel. For that we are grateful. Tomorrow we visit Hannah's orphanage and tour the ...
