        ... through the roof making the gold quite striking from inside but certainly from the outside, it doesn't look like much. I've read somewhere the dome is constructed of 625 diamond-shaped anodized aluminum panels which were originally a bright gold color, but they have faded over the years to patchy shades of gold and silver.         ... 8230; the last time was my wedding.

        This is the biggest and best Route 66 Museum to date (what, are we in Texas?). Their hook was Route 66 through the ages. There was even a sit down movie (similar to a drive-in but completely different), quite a few classic cars from each era and a gift shop! Sadly, the gift shop was classy and did not offer any rubber tomahawks.

        ... 25 miles the road is preserved as it was save for a few small stretches as the concrete rolls along crossing fields and woods on the way to Hyrdo, Oklahoma. Part of the way along this stretch I took a side trip along 1920s dirt road to see the last remains of a suspension bridge that carried the original Route 66 into Bridgeport.
