A Full day on the Train

While we were in the tunnel we crossed the continental divide and began our descent into Denver. We were again following a river gorge, but this one was much more steep sided. We passed through a lot of tunnels as we dropped in height. Coming out of the Rocky Mountains was much quicker and in only a couple of hours we could see the plain with Denver on it in the distance.

Another day that started slowly. Girls slept in a bit, and then we were treated to a nice breakfast from Miriam. Afterwards it was straight to the mules and back out to Kenny's farm to play with cats. Kristine showed us her horses and talked about them, girls helped out the feeding of them and cats. Then with Kendra and Kenny in one mule, and Jasmine and I in another, we drove through the woods, and through creeks for miles. Finally we had to return home ...

Slept in a little bit, especially by Iowa standards. After breakfast girls jumped on the mule, made some loops around town, and then headed to Kenny's farm. There they played with the cats and some of the other animals. We found out Kenny was injured and didn't see him the rest of the day. ... at R Campground alongside the river, nice spot. Went for dinner at Chinese buffet place but horrible not like the one in Huston. On way home sent for a little walk along side river. All nicely set up with walk/bike tracks and canoe race thingy on river.
