... in September, but the upside was that we didn't have to go out in all that rain. Of course, it could all happen again in September......

Plan B was to go get a National Park site passport stamp. There is an exhibition coal mine in Beckley (about 20 minutes from the ATV park), which is part of the National Coal Heritage Area, so off we went. En route, we stopped for a donut and coffee (the coal mine didn't open for another hour) at a place which ...

... super strong boulderers. And there I was the noob flailing around on 9s and 10s...

It was a good learning experience though and it was super fun to watch Fox attempt one of the hardest routes I had ever seen. He's a beast.

Once we got back I could only hang around the fire for a bit because I had to Drive another 4.5 hours to work... 9 Hours drive for a less then 24 hour trip... yeah never again.

... Mississippi Queen, some gospel music, Dubstep, Earth Angel, Circle of Life, and finally. . . Here Comes the Sun. Everyone told us to change the song when we played Friday. Another storm came and passed. We just did the same thing throughout the storm until we were told to stop.

Heat Lightning (as referenced by the Thoreau quote) is the name used for the faint flashes of lightning on the horizon or other clouds from ...
