This all started when Betsy and Don were sailing on the Oceania Cruises 10th Anniversary cruise aboard Regatta ion Alaska. CEO Frank Del Rio was aboard, held a "town meeting", and announced that Oceania was going to do their first-ever World Cruise. We were impressed, but both felt it wouldn't be for us...too expensive, too much time away, just...too much.

... by the owner, Bill Green, and learned that he has been featured in several publications as well as on the Martha Stewart Show and Anthony Bordain for his traditional Gullah recipes. The Gullah are African Americans who live in the low country region of South Carolina and Georgia and are known for preserving their African American heritage more than any other community in the U.S. Such a great find!

... looked the same as it is in the Bahamas. The water got us thinking about our cruise that is coming up this week-end - our short Bahamas Getaway.

One of the beaches that we stopped at even allowed dogs to walk on it. It was fun to watch the dogs chase the balls that their owner through out to the water or to the beach.
