We survived the send off party last night with family and flying friends. No permanent damage was done despite all the adult beverage and we got some good travel hints for Canada and Alaska. A big Thanks to Helen and Bill for hosting and conjuring up this beautiful dinner. Also a huge thanks to our good friends Lynn and Mick and Veronica and ...

We left South Carolina and headed for Gainesville. We were going to spend the night with Lewis’s aunt Marie and uncle Al. Lewis had not seen either of them since he was a young child, and I had never met them before at all. I was nervous because we were descending on the home of two strangers, and I didn’t know what to expect, or if they would like us. We arrived just before sunset on ...

    1st Night of vacation

We successfully arrived in Gainesville following our 2.5 hour warmup drive. I quickly learned why everyone kept saying, "your driving the Jeep out there". It is definitely not a luxury vehicle. It did, however, save me a $200 ticket as I passed a speed trap, hit t he brakes, then realized the Jeep barely goes the speed limit. I was touched to be greeted by a huge grin on Blake's face ...
