Headed off from Nasville this morning after piking out last night. We went to grab some dinner at an Applebee's Bar & Grill before heading to a bar with live music near the motel, After a steak and shrimp with mashed potatos and a couple of Mango flavoured cocktails, I was all done in and could barely waddle my way back to the motel. ... as she is quite talkative. Gabby did wonderful until we were about 64 miles from oiur destination. Then Gabby decided to take us the shortest way. We soon learned the "shortest" way meant very narrow roads, with no shoulders, hairpin curves and no way to get off the path. Pulling our 35foot 5th wheel with our long bed F-350 truck was a nail biting challenge but Mr. was driving and I must say he did quite well. We arrived and hour and half later ...

Hi All - getting ready for my big trip tomorrow (which is totally going to suck). Anyway, here's a brief overview of my itinerary.

Saturday afternoon - leave Louisville, long layover in Philly - arrive in Lisbon at 9 am local time. Lisbon is 5 hours ahead of Louisville.

Sunday - try and stay awake before I can check into my hotel by ...

A short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."

After a quick coffee stop this morning, we walked around the downtown and happened upon the Art Car Weekend, an awesome display of crazy painted cars with things glued on them that lasted a good four blocks. Among my personal favorites were the dental car, the Wizard of Oz car, and the penny ...

... as that's all i plan on taking aside from my laptop/electronic backpack...Chad in general is anxious and nervous...kind of endearing...he's never been out of the country (not even Mexico and Canada, which in my book don't count anyway)...watching his eyes open to the world...the varying languages, cultures, real European food and the history or art is what I think will be most entertaining this time around....though ...

... New River Gorge on our way through WV because some of the suggestions I had gotten mentioned that it would be beautiful. I had looked it up online and it did looked like it would be a great place to stop. It also looked like timing-wize it might be lunchtime when we got there. Our friend, Neesa, mentioned that every time she drove through that particular area it was always raining or snowing so to be very careful on our drive there.
