We arrived in New York very late on the 4th November. We were staying with Rob's aunt, uncle and cousins just outside the city in Rye. They moved to America 9 years ago. They have a dog called Tily who gets very excitable so it took me a while to relax. I don't really know what to do with dogs especially jumpy one's lol. We had a quick catch up with Angus and Jeanine before heading to bed.

The following day we planned to head into the ...

Our 6th floor room is small to the say the least - so small we couldn't both get in dragging our cases at the same time. Compact? Bijou, springs briefly to mind. Large? No! Even the pits of a place at West Haven could accommodate two of this room. However, it is right next to Central Park and we can walk Downtown from here or catch the Subway very easily.
A welcome bed nonetheless after another busy day.

... The Out-of-Towners and It Had to be You. We were lucky to be sat by some plants and saw several fire flies darting in and out of them. The food matched the magnificent setting and we had a great night.

The next day we met Steph and Matt and two of their friends Paddy and James on Rare rooftop which we hadn’t been to before. It’s a bit of an unknown gem with a great view of the Empire State. ...

      ... Friday is busy!
We wonder what we should do? ( 7 hours in NYC) It's easy to guess what my mum would like to do, SHOPPING !
First stop, we headed towards Times Squares, we have been here a year gone in winter. Quick photo ops, our tummy needs refueling, found a pizzeria .
One thing America seem to have great Italian restaurant.
After a very large pizza and pasta lunch, we voted to go on a cruise on the Hudson river.
      This where our eventful ...

... the bathroom to wash the quesadilla juice I'd got all over my hands and face off me before taking my place at the front of the line. This would normally be an easy job, but I had to fight my way through the crowd with my rucksack on my back, dragging my suitcase behind me, whilst also carrying Boylan's rucksack and suitcase in one hand with his jacket draped over my shoulder! Very ungracefully I made my way towards the bus and basically threw the ...
