We left Vermont at 1pm to begin our 7 week journey. Heading to New York City to stay with a dear friend Will Robb.

... for my whining. Today we did a 7 km walk in Montpelier, Vermont. We took some time to tour the state capitol building along the way. The Vermont capitol is small but charming. Again we were very surprised at the complete lack of security. What a contrast to New York where they didn't want to let me in because I had a wine bottle opener. It's been a bit since the last post from Erie Canal but here's a summary. We went across the southern shore of Lake Ontario, through the Adirondacks and are now on the shore of Lake Champlain looking at Vermont. Stopped at an Ice Cream Social in a small town and socialized well with some fans of bicycles and touring. They are part of an organization that volunteers to host touring cyclist.
