We stopped off at Hearst Castle along the way, absolutely amazing! Saw some of Mr Hearst's home videos including Charlie Chaplin playing tennis with a Wimbeldon champion on Mr Hearst's tennis courts as well as other famous movie stars, politicians, sports stars etc in home video of weekends at the castle. Then stopped at Monterey for ice-creams and finally at San Fran. Highlights: - Hearst Castle - seals at Monterey Bay Pier - driving in and seeing San Francisco at night, such a massive ...

... Art Deco style hotel just off Union Square. They even wished us happy anniversary on our arrival. It's a fabulous place and I've already fallen in love with the laid back West coast! When we checked into our room, we were greeted by a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates, and a Rubber duck dressed in a bowler hat was smiling at us from the bathroom.

... hotel shuttle was very long. It was of course much cooler than Hawaii and we had our coats on (I changed out of my flipflops into shoes).

We stayed at the same Best Western. This time our room was on the 3rd floor. Aside from a slight smell in the room which I did not like, everything was OK. This room's shower was much better than the one we had before. We had dinner at the bar and called it a night around mid-night, which would be 10pm in Hawaii.
